CancerQubit’s Q007-302 shows promise for breast cancerHistone acetyltransferase KAT6A is a modulator of gene expression in cancer and hematopoietic cells, thus being an epigenetic target in cancer therapy. KAT6A inhibitors are used in breast cancer therapy, but some of them such as prifetrastat are associated with on-target toxicity including neutropenia and anemia. To improve the therapeutic index, researchers from Qubit Pharmaceuticals SAS focused on the development of Q007-302, a KAT6A inhibitor with enhanced selectivity for KAT6A over KAT6B and KAT7 and with favorable pharmacokinetic (PK) profile, which was identified using the Quantum-AI simulation platform.
