Mark Coester and Gerald Malloy are vying for the Republican nomination ahead of the Aug. 11 primary. “There’s a lot of people who are just ignored in this state, completely,” Coester said. Coester believes in small government, tax relief to grow businesses and pushing single-topic bills in Washington. “The three folks in Washington, D.C., we have right now, all they’re doing is complaining,” Malloy said. But both Coester and Malloy say Vermont needs new leadership in Congress.
