Ross Kuntzelmann is hard at work in the kitchen at the Valley Vista rehab center, cooking for the full house-- about 30 people, twice a day.
He landed in recovery at the Valley Vista step-down rehab facility in Vergennes.
“The overall goal is to make people feel like this is a home,” said Kevin Hamel, Valley Vista’s vice president for medical and clinical services.
Valley Vista says the step-down program got a boost when the state changed Medicaid rules to allow patients to have coverage for up to 120 days of in-patient treatment.
