The woman suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, according to authorities. The Elgin Police Department responded to reports of shots fired around 10:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Wilson Street and located the woman with the gunshot wound at the scene, according to a police release. The department continues to actively investigate and urge anyone with any information to call 847-289-2600.
