(Scott Anderson)Mendota is one step closer to joining the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office for dispatch services, but the city will pay more than $400,000 to exit its current contract with Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch. “The withdrawal from Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch had nothing to do with the services provided,” Alderman Leo Hochstatter said. The move also requires approvals from the La Salle County Board and the Joint Emergency Telephone System Board. Mendota currently pays about $309,000 annually for dispatch services through IVRD, plus an additional $121,000 in related staffing costs, totaling roughly $430,000 yearly, Martin said.
