The 2026 Hermiston Melon Fest takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 22, 2026, in downtown Hermiston. (Michael Kane/Northeast Oregon Now/File)HERMISTON — Melon Fest returns to downtown Hermiston on Saturday, Aug. 22, with a day full of kids’ activities, vendors, live music, a costume contest, bathtub races, and of course, free slices of Hermiston watermelon. The outdoor event will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Festival Street and Main Street. The Bathtub Races start at noon, with teams of three competing — two to push, one to steer.
