A woman was found dead hanging in a tree behind a Jackson home on Monday night, prompting an investigation by the Jackson Police Department. In a social media post at 9:05 p.m. Monday, Jackson police said officers responded to the scene and found the body of an unidentified Black woman. Crime scene investigators are working the determine the circumstances surrounding her death. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Jackson Police Department at (601) 960-1800 or Crime Stoppers at (601) 355-8477. Howard said the woman’s body is being transported to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
