Late-night bar patrons in Boston got in one last call at 3 a.m. on Friday, July 31.
Starting at midnight on Saturday, Aug. 1, bars across the city and Massachusetts reverted to their original 1:59 a.m. closing time.
According to a NewsCenter 5 WCVB report, in early June, the Massachusetts Legislature passed Bill H.5478 to extend last call to 3 a.m. from June 8 through July 31 across the state.
The temporary extension was intended to boost Massachusetts nightlife and accommodate FIFA World Cup fan activity in Boston and statewide.
