The oldest school in the Bayou State is Ursuline Academy, located on State St in New Orleans. According to Private School Review, the oldest school in Lafayette is Cathedral Carmel. As for the oldest public school in Lafayette, well, according to the Advocate, that belongs to Lafayette High School, which was founded in 1891. We are glad to say that the current Lafayette High campus is very modern after an entirely new campus was recently built.
