Srinagar: The annual Amarnath Yatra continued on Tuesday, with the total number of pilgrims performing darshan crossing 4.67 lakh, while a fresh batch of 964 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for the Baltal base camp under tight security arrangements. With this, the cumulative number of pilgrims who have completed the pilgrimage since July 4 has reached 4,67,986. The 27th batch of pilgrims departed from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas at 3:05 a.m. in a convoy of 39 vehicles, comprising 21 buses, eight medium motor vehicles (MMVs) and 10 light motor vehicles (LMVs). With today’s departure, the total number of pilgrims who have left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp during the ongoing Yatra has reached 1,41,712,” an official said. The 57-day annual Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 28.
