Into The Wild Escapes has appointed Andrew McEvoy as its incoming chairman, bringing more than three decades of experience across national tourism, destination marketing and business leadership. McEvoy was formerly managing director and CEO of Tourism Australia and is current director of Destination NSW and Journey Beyond and chairman of Luxury Escapes and Camplify. The off-grid eco-accommodation operator appointed McEvoy to assist with strategic and capital options to unlock a national pipeline of more than 500 cabins. “This is one of the most capital-efficient models I’ve seen in Australian tourism,” McEvoy said. Giannas and Phillip Wingate founded Into The Wild Escapes in 2017.
