The Levy Senior Center will host “Growing Healthy Minds: Gardening for a Positive Attitude” from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, in the center’s courtyard at 300 Dodge Ave. The hands-on workshop will explore the connection between gardening, movement and overall wellness. Participants will learn how gardening can help improve strength, balance and mobility while reducing the risk of falls and osteoporosis as people age. As part of the workshop, each participant will plant an herb to take home, providing an opportunity to continue gardening beyond the event. The cost is $25 for Levy Senior Center members and $32.54 for nonmembers.
