(City of Umatilla/Contributed Photo)UMATILLA — The city of Umatilla and Amazon Web Services will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Aug. 13, for the Columbia River Water Treatment Facility. The $120 million plant is being entirely funded by Amazon Web Services. According to the city, the privately constructed facility will convert Columbia River water into ultra-filtration water to supply industrial customers and eventually supply the city with drinking water. The remaining 95% will be dedicated to regional municipal and industrial users.
