Atiku’s criticism followed a budget analysis by civic technology organisation, Tracka, which alleged that the Federal Cooperative College was assigned responsibility for executing 2,791 capital projects across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“Nothing exposes the hollowness of that claim more than a budget that turns a federal cooperative college into one of Nigeria’s largest project-implementing agencies,” Atiku said.
“Who decided that a cooperative college should become one of Nigeria’s biggest ministries by stealth?
He maintained that the reported allocation undermines the credibility of the 2026 budget and weakens the administration’s claims of prudent economic management.
“A government that plans to spend ₦1.08 trillion through a cooperative college cannot claim to be fighting waste or promoting fiscal discipline.
