AI Wants Your Land, Water, PowerThe bigger data centers, which are in vogue, being built right up next to hospitals, schools, and residences willy nilly use anywhere from 1-to-7 million gallons of water per day. This is an invasion of the land, the water, the power, the intellectual resources of America. A recent study by The Guardian found that 2/3rds of the planned data centers in the U.S. are in drought-stricken areas. According to Katie Couric, Sam Altman, CEO of Open AI, dismisses concerns about AI water use, “fake, completely untrue, totally insane, and having no connection to reality.” These human resources, similar to natural resources, are public resources.
