But while sad, disastrous and unhappy, tragedy is often without blame — and that can be the hardest part of it all. Oregon State University pitcher Tyler Bellerose suffered a brain injury last spring as the result of what was described by multiple media outlets as an “automobile accident.” So, with that in mind, young men act like fools, take unnecessary risks, and sometimes one, the other, or both go horribly wrong — like in the case of Bellerose. But with those questions come frustrations, and those frustrations, in the wake of accidents like the one involving Bellerose, result in emotions that far too many let dictate their response. Bellerose can recover; his teammate can be forgiven; and both can hopefully use what’s happened in a positive and productive way.
