Barbara Vanich, who stepped down as chief auditor of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board last month, has a new job at global consulting firm BRG, according to an Aug. 3 announcement. She has joined the firm’s Financial Institution Advisory practice as a managing director in its Washington, D.C. office. A CPA with more than 30 years of experience, Vanich will advise BRG clients on accounting and auditing matters, including internal controls and corporate governance. “I’m pleased to join BRG at a time when accounting and regulatory expectations continue to evolve,” Vanich said in a statement. During Vanich’s tenure as chief auditor, which began in 2022, the PCAOB adopted several new standards intended to improve audit quality and to protect investors.
