Just The News - Not The Noise
The House Ethics Committee announced Tuesday that it has launched an investigation into allegations that Ohio GOP Rep. Max Miller engaged in domestic violence and abuse.
The probe comes just hours after Miller asked the committee to open the investigation, following domestic abuse allegations from his ex-wife, Emily Moreno.
"The Committee, pursuant to Committee Rule 18(a), is reviewing allegations that Representative Max Miller may have engaged in domestic violence and abuse or illegal drug use in violation of the Code of Official Conduct or any other applicable standard of conduct," the committee's leadership said in a statement.
Miller was married to Emily Moreno, the daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, who has said he should not serve in Congress.
Moreno has alleged that Miller physically abused her, including by placing a gun to her head and pouring hot water on her.
