The NGT program is at the heart of the Australian rail industry, with a nation-leading 65 percent of local tram content. A state-of-the-art light rail vehicle maintenance facility operated by Alstom in Maidstone, Melbourne evidences the design, manufacture, infrastructure and maintenance capabilities of Alstom’s Australia operations. In 2026, Alstom has delivered the first X’trapolis 2.0 train and NGT tram into passenger service in Victoria as well as the first Australind train in Western Australia.
