For the first time since they hosted the tournament 20 years ago, Canada are going back to the U20 World Cup. A 3-1 quarterfinal win over Jamaica on Wednesday evening booked Canada’s ticket to the semifinals of the Concacaf U20 Championship, and with that, Canada’s place in next summer’s U20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Liam Mackenzie restores Canada the lead from the penalty spot with his 2nd of the game! It was another Jamaican TFC prospect, Raequan Campbell-Dennis, that gave away the penalty that became Canada’s game-winner. For now Canada can celebrate going to the U20 World Cup for the first time in a long time, since 2007 and 2015, respectively.
