Street takeovers have become a familiar sight in cities across America, but it’s rare to see one bring an interstate to a complete standstill. That’s exactly what happened early Saturday morning in Florida, where traffic cameras captured more than 100 vehicles blocking every northbound lane of Interstate 75 before one fleeing BMW M3 allegedly hit 140 mph (225 km/h) while trying to outrun state troopers. The entire incident, from the burnouts to the chase, was caught on camera. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. near mile marker 266 in Thonotosassa. Traffic cameras recorded all northbound lanes blocked before troopers arrived with lights and sirens activated.
