Remutaka Hill Road today – NZTAReport from RNZA Featherston resident says attempting to drive over the Remutaka Hill early this morning was “awful”. State Highway 2 on the Remutaka Hill was closed overnight because of snow, but opened at 5.30am this morning before closing again half an hour later because of more snow and ice. “We were pretty much wheel spinning most of time where snow was on road.” She said she was hoping to try again later today to get to work. NZTA reopened the Remutaka Road at about 11.15.
