The Yampa Valley Community Foundation has announced its 2026 Philanthropists of the Year, honoring individuals, businesses and youth who have demonstrated significant charitable giving, leadership and volunteerism, states a recent news release. Bud and Jane Romberg were honored with the Legacy of Philanthropy Award, commemorating almost 60 years of service, generosity and community contributions. While Bud Romberg previously considered philanthropy as being financial giving, he now believes giving time and sharing resources are equally important. Mark and Mary Stevens were awarded Individual Philanthropists of the Year, recognizing their human-centered investments that create impactful outcomes for both individuals and communities. The couple believes that “no one is born a philanthropist,” but that instead, “it is a learned skill and activity,” states the release.
