UFC featherweight Danny Silva, who most recently finished highly-touted, formerly-unbeaten Dana White Contender Series prospect Kurtis Campbell back in March, revealed on his Instagram that he suffered a life threatening medical emergency.
On Aug. 3 Silva took to social media to tell his followers that he suffered a pulmonary embolism - a blood clot in the lungs - amongst other blood clots around the body.
Thankfully, Silva survived; according to him, potentially due to the fact he was in such good physical condition.
I had multiple blood clots.
They found a massive thrombosis in a vein in my neck, and part of the clot had broken off and traveled to my lung, causing a pulmonary embolism.
