A number of new road closures will be introduced to Belfast city centre from Wednesday morning due to high visitor numbers for the Fleadh Cheoil. More than 350,000 were counted over the first two days of the musical celebration in roughly one square mile around Belfast City Hall. The huge numbers have prompted organisers to introduce new road closures in the direct vicinity of Belfast City Hall from 5am on Wednesday. Public transport operator Translink confirmed the decision on Tuesday evening. “These roads will be closed to all traffic from tomorrow until the event finishes on Sunday evening as part of phased road closures put in place by Belfast City Council.
