Oak Grove Police Urge Drivers to Use Designated Detours as Construction Continues

With major road construction continuing on I-24 and Kentucky 911, Oak Grove police are urging drivers, especially commercial truck drivers, to use designated detours instead of neighborhood roads that were never designed to handle heavy traffic.
Oak Grove Police Lt. Jeff Locklear said the biggest concern continues to be tractor-trailers using Walter Garrett Lane as a shortcut around the I-24 construction zone.
Locklear recommends drivers remain on Fort Campbell Boulevard to Tiny Town Road before returning to I-24 at Exit 1 in Tennessee.
The increased traffic has also placed additional demands on the Oak Grove Police Department.
