Discovery Park of America has reached a major milestone in the development of its new permanent energy gallery, “Megawatts: The Exhibit,” with expanded support from the Tennessee Valley Authority — and the start of exhibit design.
The exhibit will use a fictional “Powerverse” and superhero-inspired “Energy League” characters to introduce energy concepts and encourage interest in STEM education and careers.
Discovery Park President and CEO Scott Williams said the exhibit is designed to inspire future scientists, engineers and innovators while making complex energy topics accessible for families.
TVA joins Union City Electric, Origis Energy and Gibson Electric Membership Corporation as founding partners for the project, with additional partners expected to be announced.
Since opening in 2013, Discovery Park has welcomed more than 2.25 million visitors.
