Regulators Crack Down on Spam Car Finance Claims Messages
[]
The Coventry Observer
UK regulators have stepped up action against companies suspected of sending millions of unwanted text messages about car finance compensation.
The industry for mis-sold car finance has become increasingly lucrative for claims management companies, with the FCA stating more than 12.1 million agreements may be viable for refunds.
Since September 2025, more than 12 million complaints have been made about nuisance marketing linked to car finance claims.
The regulator has also warned that claims management companies can charge fees up to 30% (plus VAT) of claims awarded.
Since January 2024, more than 1,200 adverts promoting car finance claims have been removed or changed after failing to meet regulatory standards.
