(City of Bend)When government gives money away to businesses, our question is: Who does government want to win? This week, the city of Bend will make available a grand total of $130,000 to help small businesses in Bend via grants. The city’s Business and Economic Development Advisory Board will be scoring the economic development applications and the city’s Environment and Climate Committee will be scoring the climate/sustainability ones. Three categories each get 12 points: business capacity; feasibility; and alignment with city economic development goals or climate goals.
