Hog futures were mixed, with nearby contract months turning lower and back-end months turning higher on seasonal pricing patterns, market analysts said. Sizzling temperatures in the Midwest and Plains had been curbing hog weights, which was seen as a supportive factor for futures, market analysts said. October hogs ended 1.175 cents lower at 83.675 cents per pound.
