Libya’s High Council of State has established a technical Committee of specialists to assess the country’s electricity crisis and propose solutions to improve the efficiency of the power sector.
The decision was taken on Monday, August 3, during a meeting in Tripoli chaired by Council President Mohamed Takala, with senior council officials in attendance.
The meeting focused on challenges facing the General Electricity Company and the impact of power shortages on citizens.
The Committee will prepare an objective assessment of the causes of the crisis and submit recommendations aimed at increasing electricity generation capacity and improving the stability of the national grid.
Meanwhile, the committee overseeing the National Oil Corporation will continue its review of Libya’s oil and gas sectors and present a detailed report with its findings and recommendations.
