Morocco’s National Social Security Fund, known as CNSS, has launched a 1.2 million dirham-study to overhaul how it tracks performance and manages its operations, as the institution’s responsibilities continue to expand rapidly. Companies have until August 27 to submit bids for the four-month contract. The overhaul comes as CNSS takes on a significantly larger role under Framework Law 09.21, which expanded social protection nationwide. More than 32 million people, or roughly 88 percent of the population, are now covered by Mandatory Health Insurance, including nearly 11 million low-income people under the state-funded AMO-Tadamon scheme, for which the government transferred 25.51 billion dirhams to CNSS between December 2022 and late 2025. CNSS is also preparing to absorb management of public-sector health insurance through a planned merger with CNOPS under draft legislation, a shift that would add further weight to an institution already processing hundreds of thousands of reimbursement claims each week alongside government transfers and family support payments.
