(IN BRIEF) Design work is beginning on 12-metre uncrewed surface vessels that will be fitted to each of the Royal Netherlands Navy’s new Anti-Submarine Warfare frigates.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence has authorised Dutch Naval Design to start design work and finalise sonar procurement.
The project is being advanced through Dutch Naval Design, a partnership involving the Ministry of Defence, industry, academia and research institutions.
The Ministry has authorised Dutch Naval Design (DND) to commence the design of the new uncrewed vessels while simultaneously finalising procurement of the adapted FLASH dipping sonar.
Operating independently from the frigate, the uncrewed vessels will increase operational reach, improve responsiveness and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of maritime operations.
