A segment of the trail near the spillway has been closed for weeks while Dallas Water Utilities has been working on an old pipe. The closure has led some cyclists and joggers to use a lane of Garland Road, which is totally not safe. From the White Rock Lake Task Force yesterday: “I am pleased to report that the White Rock Lake Trail along Garland Road will reopen no later than Friday, August 7. Kudos to Dallas Water Utilities and to their liaisons in the Park & Recreation Department.” I drove Garland on the way to work this morning, and it looked to me like the trail is already open.
