Madagascar has officially begun construction of a $28 million flyover aimed at easing traffic congestion in Antananarivo, the country’s capital.
The Anosizato flyover project is expected to improve transport efficiency along one of the city’s busiest road corridors, enhancing the movement of both passengers and freight.
The new interchange will connect the RN1 and RN58A national highways through a modern overpass featuring multiple entry and exit ramps designed to improve traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks.
The infrastructure project forms part of Madagascar’s broader strategy to modernize its transportation network.
Officials note that the project’s long-term success will depend on effective construction management, cost control, and continued investment in surrounding road infrastructure.
