The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has signed $190 million in financing agreements with CBZ Bank Limited to strengthen trade finance, improve access to credit for businesses, and support Zimbabwe’s energy sector.
The funding is expected to enhance the country’s trade capacity while supporting economic growth and infrastructure development.
The financing package includes a $150 million trade finance facility that will enable CBZ Bank to provide loans and issue letters of credit for businesses engaged in international trade.
The facility is designed to reduce the trade finance gap that continues to limit import and export activities across Africa.
In addition, Afreximbank has approved a $20 million financing programme dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
