A five-man team from the Confederation of African Football on Tuesday concluded its inspection of facilities put forward by Nigeria to host the organisation’s 48th Ordinary General Assembly and the 2026 CAF Awards.
After arriving in Lagos on Sunday, the team (which included five accompanying officials of the Nigeria Football Federation), inspected the Eko Hotel & Suites, the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.
While the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre has been earmarked to host the Ordinary General Assembly, the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts is ticked to host the CAF Awards.
At the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, the team was joined by the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon.
The CAF delegation members were obviously impressed by the facilities inspected and emphasized the overarching importance of hosting a seamless, safe, innovative and memorable General Assembly and CAF Awards that guests will remember for many years to come.
