An eight-month-old start-up headquartered in London has secured a $10bn (£7bn) deal with AI giant Anthropic. It said the deal would allow it to develop an AI data centre in Norway with Bitdeer, a cryptocurrency company that has since moved into data centres. The company's ambitions in the UK, where AI data centre developers have typically been put off by high electricity costs, are unclear. British data centre company Nscale has largely focused on projects overseas, while Anthropic's rival OpenAI suspended a planned UK investment earlier this year, blaming power costs. It came a day after UK AI start-up Olix was valued at $3.3bn with investors, including the Government's Sovereign AI fund.
