Isaiah Hansen holds down the #4 spot on our countdown of top sports moments from Newton High School during the 2025-2026 school year. Hansen came through with a big performance in the High Jump at the Class 3A State Track and Field Meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines on Thursday, May 21st, placing 3rd overall with a jump of 6-feet 5-inches. His finish earned Newton six team points. The Cardinal junior essentially predicted his state finish on May 14th, after taking first place at the District State Qualifying Meet in Pella, with a jump of 6-feet 4-inches. Hansen’s third place finish earned Newton six team points, and helped the Cardinals tie for 19th in the Class 3A team standings.
