A Carroll man has been charged with stalking after allegedly tracking the victim’s vehicle with an Apple AirTag, a small, coin-sized tracking device.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) affidavit, they were investigating Blum for stalking and violation of the no-contact order when the victim, a Coon Rapids woman, located an Apple AirTag device on her vehicle.
The CCSO then took the tracking device and placed it inside a trash barrel to see if Blum would track it and attempt to retrieve it.
A trail camera set up by the CCSO allegedly recorded Blum arriving at the location, exiting his vehicle, and retrieving the device.
After leaving, Blum was stopped by law enforcement, at which point, according to the affidavit, Blum admitted to placing the tracker on the victim’s vehicle.
