To a great extent, economic activity, democratic engagement and improvements in public services and security coexist in the UT specially after the abrogation of article 370 in 2019. In the financial year 2024-25, Jammu and Kashmir reported a nominal Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of approximately Rs 2.65 lakh crore. Over the course of one year, the government received 8,532 applications for Rs 1.69 lakh crore under their Single Window System. Medical colleges increased from 4 to 12, and MBBS seats increased from 500 and 1,725. PG, MS, MCh, and DM/MCh seats increased from 513 to 802.
