Waterloo regional police have charged a 34-year-old man after emergency crews responded to a fire early Sunday morning in Kitchener, Ont. Police and fire crews were called to a multi-unit residential townhome on Courtland Avenue East at approximately 6:30 a.m. Firefighters found a fire in the exterior entrance area that serviced two townhome units, the Kitchener Fire Department said in an incident report, adding crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control. The damage to the units is estimated at $200,000, Kitchener Fire Department said.
