With a little over two weeks before the deadline to register as municipal election candidates, some races are heating up in Norfolk County. The municipality will have a new mayor for the next four-year term, which runs from November 2026 to November 2030, after Amy Martin announced in May she wouldn’t seek re-election. As of Aug. 4, other registered candidates include:The seat for Ward 1, which includes St. Williams, Walsingham and Port Rowan, is currently held by Tom Masschaele. Ward 3, which includes Delhi, LaSalette and Teeterville, is open after longtime councillor Mike Columbus announced he wouldn’t seek re-election. Registered candidates are Chris Gill, Hetty Verlinden and Doug Moyaert.
