WEST FARGO, N.D. — The West Fargo City Commission approved a series of cost-saving adjustments to its preliminary 2027 municipal budget during its Monday meeting, capping the overall tax levy increase and directing staff to establish a dedicated equipment fund. City Administrator Dustin Scott presented the budget modifications, noting that property tax revenue is projected to rise slightly from $22.7 million in 2026 to $22.93 million in 2027. Scott explained that statutory limits and tax early-payment discounts impact the net general fund collection, which represents roughly 47percent of total general fund revenues. “Overall it creates a strong net position, $736,000,” Scott told the commission regarding the revised figures. The formal public hearing on the preliminary 2027 budget was set for Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.
