Under North Dakota law, the approval of the preliminary budget establishes the maximum mill rate for the upcoming fiscal year.
Financial Overview and Debt StatusThe approved preliminary general fund budget includes projected revenues of slightly over $62 million and estimated expenditures of $61,911,000.
Based on an estimated county population of 204,000, the general fund expenditure equals approximately $299 per resident annually.
The 2027 preliminary budget incorporates:New Positions: Six full-time equivalent (FTE) positions, including five in the State’s Attorney’s Office and one in the Coroner’s Office.
