MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Clay County Board of Commissioners convened on Aug. 4, 2026, addressing key regional agenda items, including a 31 percent proposed reduction in the 2027 public health levy, local legislative policy priorities, and various county infrastructure and program requests. Public Health Budget and Service AdjustmentsPublic Health Director Jessica Mickelson and Administrator Brandon Nelson presented the preliminary 2027 Public Health budget overview. Restructuring the public health clinic from five days to two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), generating an $83,000 benefit to the levy. Dunwoody detailed the Chamber’s public policy efforts, noting that the organization tracked approximately 130 bills and engaged on 13 policy priorities during the last state legislative session, achieving a 62 percent success rate.
