A hitman jailed for an acid attack on a journalist has been released from prison. William Burns is back on the streets after being jailed for the 2015 attack on former Sunday Mail and The Sun investigative reporter Russell Findlay. Russell, pictured, has since moved into politics and is now the leader of the Scottish Conservatives. Asked if he would forgive Burns for his crimes, Russell said: “No.” “This is an enforcer, a hitman, for a major organised crime group in Scotland which has inflicted untold damage to many innocent people.”
