Dilworth Little League and Myers Park Trinity Little League have added 20 teams in the past five years. Growth has forced leagues to turn families away when they try to sign up for T-ball or machine pitch. Last season, Dilworth had 16 machine pitch teams and 12 T-ball teams. Officials are struggling to get land for new athletic fields as development picks up, available land shrinks, and costs climb.
