A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police Tameside said detectives believe they have identified suspected human remains near the motorway. National Highways says the motorway is likely to remain closed throughout the day ‘due to the nature of the incident’. Road workers made the discovery around 11pm on Monday near a bridge between junctions 3 and 4. That disruption is due to a ‘serious road traffic collision’, according to National Highways.
