Slash has opened up about what tore apart his partnership with Axl Rose, leading to his 1996 exit from Guns N' Roses. "The actual issues between Axl and I weren't insurmountable," Slash said to Rolling Stone. "It really had to do with other people that had gotten involved and exacerbated the issues that we had. "Axl got in touch with me through management, and that wasn't about Guns N' Roses getting back together at the time — that was really about mending the fences," Slash said. The band was announced as Coachella 2016 headliners on January 4, 2016, with confirmation that Slash and bassist Duff McKagan would return.
